John Ambrose
Prior to founding Ambrose Investment Counsel Ltd. in 2003, John Ambrose headed the Investment Department of MD Private Trust, managing $2 billion of assets for individual and institutional clients.
John has authored numerous articles in Ontario Dentist, the Ontario Medical Review and Strategy (published by the Canadian Medical Association). His methodology for equity investing has outperformed both rising and falling markets.
John has taught Portfolio Management and Securities Analysis at the University of Toronto, and served on its Governing Council. He served as Chair of the Banting Research Foundation, which has started the careers of more than 1,000 young medical researchers in Canada.
John received an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, a master’s degree in aerospace sciences from Princeton University, and a bachelor of applied science from the University of Toronto. He is a registered Professional Engineer, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
